The Festival of Sporting Cars (FoSC) began in 2005 when a group of motor enthuiasts wanted to bring back the fun to club meets. Tracing its origins back to Wakefield park, the event has grown to include the iconic Mount Panorama racing circuit in Bathurst. What better way to test the skills and determination of club drivers than to take them to one of Australians most challenging circiuts, where even the professionals sometimes fail to finish.
FoSC's aim is to facilitate safe, affordable motorsport by embracing racing and regularity events for both historic and modern categories. This is achieved by encouraging high driving standards through continuing driver instruction with the help of famed Masters of the past and enforcing strict no-touch competition. 2008 saw close to 500 participants in the event, with that number increasing considerably in 2009. 2010 is set to attract its highest competitor number yet.
The event has been run for 2 years (2008/09) and is quickly making itself a permanent fixture on the Mount Panorama calendar. If you wish to be involved with the Festival of Sporting Cars then please visit there website here.
